About me

Hi, I'm Gem. Born and raised in Cambridge I've just moved back to the area after a long time away. I tried to get a "sensible" degree and it didn't stick, but I did get 3 years of student and fringe theatre in Edinburgh and a BA in set building from RCSSD. I was taught how to work with rope during my nearly 7 years at Arthur Beale, one of the oldest chandlers in the country.

My aim in life is to learn how to make just about anything, and I love a challenge. I've spent a lot of my life living on boats and in tents which has been amazing, but now I'm trying to work my way to the true mark of success - owning a home with plumbing!

I have products I've already made available in my shop, but if they're not quite what you're looking for I'm very happy to modify designs or create something completely bespoke. I love problem solving how to make someone's design ideas a reality, and I might regret saying this but I don't think any idea is too crazy!
